After both teams ended the season 14-3, the Seattle Seahawks and the New England Patriots will be going head to head in the 2026 Superbowl on Feb. 8, 2026.

Seattle Seahawks

Let’s start off with the Seahawks. This season the Seahawks only lost to three teams: the 49ers (13-17), the Buccaneers (35-38), and the Rams (19-21). The Seahawks have a stacked team and a very balanced one too, which will make them a formidable opponent to defeat. Let’s look at some key players. Quarterback Sam Donald started the season off looking unstoppable, his first five games of the season he had already passed 1,246 yards. Other players to look for are Jaxon Smith-Njigba (WR), Keneth Walker III (RB), and Ernest Jones IV (LB). Overall the Seahawks have a strong balanced team. Their offense consists of a strong passing game, and a dominant defense which actually leads the NFL in turnover ratio.

New England Patriots

The Patriots also only lost three games this season: the Raiders (13-20), the Steelers (14-21), and the Bills (31-35). The Patriots have a pretty solid team, but their passing offense is elite. Led by Drake Maye, with 4,258 recorded yards this season it is one of the best passing offenses in the NFL. Some key players that built this team are Steffon Diggs (WR), Treveyon Henderson (RB), and Jaylinn Hawkins (S). The Patriots have a good solid team and were doing amazing in the regular season, but in the playoffs they have been a completely different looking team.  According to the Ringer, the last two games produced their lowest success rates all season.

The Superbowl

Now let’s talk about the matchup. First off, if the Patriots aren’t able to get it together before the Superbowl then this game could be a blowout. But if they begin playing like they did in the regular season then this might be a really close game. Throughout the entire season both teams never lost a game down more than seven points. If the Patriots are going to want to win, there are two important things they need to be able to do. First, be able to break through Seattle’s defense. Seattle’s defense is what some might argue got them to the Superbowl, so being able to break through will be a huge advantage for New England. Secondly, being able to put pressure and break Sam Darnold. The Seahawks have an offense built around play action passes. By putting pressure on Sam Darnold, the Seahawks will quickly begin to fall apart.For the Seahawks, the win is mostly in their favor. All they need to do is not fall under pressure and solidify the win. If the Patriots are able to play like they did in the regular season, I believe the game will come down to special teams.

The Verdict

Overall, the Seahawks are on course to win the Superbowl on paper. As much as I love underdog stories, the Patriots winning is just too much of a stretch. It would take a lot for the Patriots to go home with the Superbowl. The Seahawks just have too much of a stacked balanced team to lose. I predict the score will be 35-17, a Seahawks victory.
