On March 16th, the Oscars hosted their 98th ceremony with the big hits of 2025. These movies consist of Sinners, Marty Supreme, Frankenstein, Hamnet, Bugonia, The Secret Agent, F1, and Sentimental Value.

This night was packed with impactful emotional speeches, unexpected wins, and numerous internet debates that sparked discussion among viewers online.

After much debate. Taking home the ‘Best Actor Award’ was Michael B. Jordan for Sinners. It was not only one of the most edge-of-the-seat moments for fans. It was also the most talked about time of the night, with Michael B. Jordan delivering a speech that was touching to many that night.

Many other people shone that night, with Jessie Buckley winning ‘Best Actress’ for Hamnet, Amy Madigan winning ‘Best Supporting Actress’, and Sean Penn winning ‘Best Supporting Actor.’ 

One of the bigger competitors that night was Kpop Demon Hunters. Numerous fans across the internet had debates and disagreements with the fact that the song ‘Golden’ from K-pop Demon Hunters won over ‘I lied to you’ in Sinners. 

Fans agree that ‘Golden’ works better as a song without needing context, rather than ‘I lied to you’ being average to some but more favorable with the context of the movie. Some also state the fact that ‘Golden’ has multiple awards, being on the radio more times than ‘I lied to you’. Also, being on the billboard skyrocketing in plays and streams, hitting multiple checkpoints over and over since its release.

This year’s Oscars were filled with tons of speculation, theories, and even rumors of who is deserving of what and what should win what. Though in the end, it shows how one big night can affect those participating in it.
