Friends and family, all gathered together in one place for one special holiday, Thanksgiving. Over time, Thanksgiving has evolved into what we know it as today: turkey, cranberry sauce and laughs. Then comes along Friendsgiving, a way to evolve Thanksgiving traditions into a more intimate act amongst friends and family.
All over the world Friendsgiving has become something that’s valued. It continues to rise and is cherished between closely knit groups and families. From giving small gifts of appreciation or to getting that one gift you’ve wanted to receive from someone when you thought nobody was paying attention to you. Truly this is an experience that makes tradition something special.
“I think it’s cute,” junior Avery Jones said. “Giving your friends little gifts, food and stuff. It almost feels like Christmas came early.”
Though gift giving is an important aspect of this newly found tradition, the thought of just being with those you’re thankful for and value the most, is something that is more important than any value a materialistic item could hold.
“Gifts are nice, but in the end it’s all about the people you’re with,” junior Bella Miller said. “Nothing is more priceless than being with those you love most.”
Besides all the minor mishaps that may happen like forgetting the dessert, or the drinks, one thing for sure is that no one will forget the love for those around them that they hold dearly in their hearts.
“I’m just ready to eat and take the leftovers too cause who wouldn’t when the food is going to be this good?” Jones said.
