The band competed on October 21, in the UIL Regional marching competition, placing with all ones!
The UIL Regional marching contest is a competition for bands across the region to showcase their skills and perform their show, and receive a rating 1- 5, with 1 being the best, and 5 being the worst.
Freshman Clara Bonelli is a bass clarinet for the band, and is very excited to see how the far the band goes this year. “I already knew this was gonna be a good performance,” Bonelli said.
The band stepped onto the field, the sun shining glaringly into their eyes.
“I felt like I was being blinded by the sun,” Karriyah Parrish said.
Finally finishing their performance, they stepped off the field and waited for their results from the judges, when suddenly, the band directors showed up holding a trophy indicating the band had gotten 1’s in every category.
Sara Patino is a sophomore flute for the band, and has a passion for music and marching band. “I’m so excited to see how far we advance, especially since we get to move onto UIL Area,” Patino said.
