Time waits for nobody. Students are eagerly and thrillingly getting ready for one memorable night. As homecoming approaches, anticipation floods the hallways as senior Analise Meullion prepares for the dance.
“It’s my first homecoming and my last,” Meullion said, who is attending her first homecoming dance. “I’m excited to go out.Especially with the friends I chose to go with, preparation was so fun. All of the shopping made it worth it.”
For seniors this is a pinch me moment. That realization that they’re almost at the top of that mountain with homecoming being their last. While experiencing homecoming is different for everyone, those coming back for their third time like junior Alma Lora, are expecting nothing less this year.
“Homecoming was fun last year,” Lora said. “I’m hoping this year the music is just as good, and the dance is just as fun. I already have ideas for my makeup and hair too. I’m so excited.”
Homecoming is a tradition that never dulls, from the spirit week to the homecoming game and pep rallies, this year promises to be no different and will serve as a way to enlighten this special tradition that will continue on to evolve into something greater. After months of preparation, the perfect dress or the perfect suit and shoes.
“Homecoming feels more to me than just homecoming you know?” Williams said. “It feels like you’re celebrating with one big family, a class you’ve grown up with all the way up to this moment and If that isn’t a refreshing feeling I don’t know what is.”
