The Sunday Reset culture is a widespread trend of resetting and preparing for the week ahead, with the goal to help reduce stress and responsibilities throughout the week.
Many students like to reset for the week by completing unfinished homework or “just getting it over with.”
“Personally I like to Sunday Reset by doing all my homework for the week so I don’t have to stress about it later,” freshman Chloe Cuenco said.
Many people think teachers take the time on the weekend to reset and plan for the week, but some take the time off and not think about work while on break.
“I like to cook for my family, I like to watch football on the weekends. I don’t do any work when I don’t have to,” head band director Jeffrey Gorring said.
Apart from finishing work, many take the chance to take an “everything shower,” a shower that helps to take care of weekly grooming processes such as shaving, exfoliating, hair washing and getting a nice deep clean before the week starts
“I have a lot of hair so I wash my hair, I exfoliate, shave if I need to and clean my self,” student teacher Ms. Sparks said.
Cleaning and chores are also a big part of a Sunday reset, with loads of laundry and almost empty pantries, it’s a popular time to go grocery shopping, get chores done, and make the house clean and reset for the week.
“First things first I clean my guinea pigs cage, sweep and mo and vacuum, and clean up my dresser and desk,” said junior Peyton Hill.
Sunday resets as a whole is a way to get away from the world and be in your own space. It’s a break from school, friends, drama, and work.
“My Sundays are boring but it’s a nice break to relax and reset before the chaos of the week,” freshman Abby DiMatteo said.
