The series starts in Rogers Centre (Blue Jays stadium) with the Blue Jays starting right-handed rookie pitcher Trey Yesavage on the mound. The Dodgers started left-handed pitcher Blake Snell. In the top of the 2nd inning,with the Dodgers hitting, and runners on first and second. Enrique Hernández singles to center field allowing Teoscar Hernández to score from second base giving the Dodgers a 1-0 lead. In the top of the 3rd, Dodgers up to bat again, with runners on first and second. Will Smith singles to right field, allowing Mookie Betts to score from second base. The inning ends with Dodgers leading 2-0. In the bottom of the 4th, this time the Blue Jays up to bat with a runner on first. Daulton Varsho homers deep to center field tying up the game 2-2. In the bottom of the 6th, the Dodgers took out Snell for right-hander Emmet Sheehan. With the bases loaded for the Blue Jays, Ernie Clement singles to center field, scoring Isiah Kiner-Falefa. Then Nathan Lukes walks, scoring Alejandro Kirk. Then Andrés Giménez singles to right field scoring Varsho. The Dodgers replaced Sheehan for left-handed pitcher Anthony Banda. Leading to Addison Barger hitting a grand slam to middle right field. Finally with a runner on first, Kirk hits a home run to middle left field, leaving the Blue Jays with an 11-2 lead at the end of the 6th inning. In the top of the 7th inning, the Blue Jays replaced Domínguez with right-handed pitcher Braydon Fisher. Leading to Shohei Ohtani hitting a 2 run homer to right field, leaving the Dodgers with a 4-11 deficit. The Blue Jays proceed to shut the Dodgers down, allowing them to take game 1 with a final score of 11-4.
Game 2: Dodgers (0) – Blue Jays (1)
For game two, the Blue Jays decided to start right-handed pitcher Kevin Gausman on the mound. While the Dodgers started right-handed pitcher Yoshinobu Yamamoto. In the top of the 1st, the Dodgers had a runner on second, Will Smith singles to center field, scoring Freddie Freeman giving the Dodgers an early lead 1-0. In the bottom of the 3rd, the Blue Jays are up to bat, with runners on the corners. Alejandro Kirk hits a sacrifice fly to score George Springer, tying up the game 1-1. In the top of the 7th,with the Dodgers on offense, Will Smith hits a home run to left field. Then Max Muncy also hits a homer to left field, giving the Dodgers the lead 3-1. In the top of the 8th, the Blue Jays replaced right-handed pitcher Louis Varland with right-handed pitcher Jeff Hoffman. With bases loaded, Andy Pages scores off a wild pitch. Then Will Smith grounded out but not before Shohei Ohtani scored. This gives the Dodgers a 5-1 lead. Yamamoto is able to shut down the Blue Jays for the remainder of the game giving the Dodgers a game two victory.
Game 3: Dodgers (1) – Blue Jays (1)
For game three, the teams move over to Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles to play. The Dodgers decided to start right-handed pitcher Tyler Glasnow. The Blue Jays started right-handed pitcher Max Scherzer. In the bottom of the 2nd, the Dodgers struck first with Teoscar Hernández hitting a home run to left field, giving the Dodgers the lead 1-0. In the bottom of the 3rd, the Dodgers are up to the plate, Shohei Ohtani hits a home run to right field. The Dodgers led 2-0. In the top of the 4th with runners on the corners, the Blue Jays responded with Alejandro Kirk hitting a three run home run to center field. Then with runners on the corners again, Andrés Giménez hits a sacrifice fly allowing Addison Barger to score. The inning ends with the Blue Jays in the lead 4-2. In the bottom of the 5th, the Blue Jays substituted left-handed pitcher Mason Fluharty in for Max Scherzer. With a runner on first, Shohei Ohtani hits a double to left field, scoring Enrique Hernández. Then Freddie Freeman hits a single to right field, allowing for Ohtani to score. The inning ends with the Dodgers tied up with the Blue Jays 4-4. In the top of the 7th, the Dodgers replaced left-handed pitcher Justin Wrobleski with right-handed pitcher Blake Treinen. With a runner on first, Bo Bichette gave the Blue Jays the lead by singling to right field, scoring Vladimir Guerrero Jr. giving the Blue Jays the lead 5-4. In the bottom of the 7th the Blue Jays replaced right-handed pitcher Louis Varland with right-handed pitcher Seranthony Domínguez. The Dodgers tied the game up with a home run from Ohtani to middle left field. The score became 5-5. The game stays tied all the way up until the bottom of the 18th inning, when Freddie Freeman hits a walk off home run off of left-handed pitcher Brendan Little, giving the Dodgers a 6-5 game three win.
Game 4: Dodgers (2) – Blue Jays (1)
In game four, the Dodgers started right-handed pitcher Shohei Ohtani, and the Blue Jays started right-handed pitcher Shane Bieber. In the bottom of the 2nd, with runners on the corners, Enrique Hernández hit a sacrifice fly to middle right field, scoring Max Muncy, to give the Dodgers a 1-0 lead. Then in the top of the 3rd, the Blue Jays responded with a two run homer from Vladimir Guerrero Jr. to middle left field, giving the Blue Jays a 2-1 lead. In the top of the 7th, the Dodgers replaced Ohtani with left-handed pitcher Anthony Banda. The Blue Jays had runners on 3rd and 2nd, Andrés Giménez hit a single to left field, scoring Daulton Varsho. Then with runners on the corners, Ty France grounded out but allowed Ernie Clement to score. The Dodgers replaced Anthony Banda with right-handed pitcher Blake Treinen. With runners on 1st and 2nd, Bo Bichette singled to left field, scoring Andrés Giménez. Finally with runners on the corners, Addison Barger singles to left field scoring Guerrero Jr. The rally ends with the Blue Jays leading 6-1. In the bottom of the 9th, the Blue Jays replaced right-handed pitcher Louis Varland with right-handed pitcher Chris Bassit. The Dodgers got runners on 2nd and 3rd, Tommy Edman grounded out, allowing for Teoscar Hernández to score. The inning ended giving the Blue Jays the win 6-2, and tying up the series at 2-2.
Game 5: Dodgers (2) – Blue Jays (2)
For game five, the Dodgers started left-handed pitcher Blake Snell, and the Blue Jays started right-handed pitcher Trey Yesavage. Immediately in the top of the first the Blue Jays struck with Davis Shneider hitting a homer to left field, and then Vladimir Guerrero hit another homer to left field. This gave the Blue Jays a 2-0 head start. In the bottom of the third, Enrique Hernández got the Dodgers their first run on the board, by hitting a home run to left field, making the score 1-2. In the top of the 4th, with a runner on 3rd, the Blue Jays responded with Ernie Clement hitting a sacrifice fly, allowing Daulton Varsho to score. The Blue Jays led 3-1. In the top of the 7th, the Dodgers substituted in right-handed pitcher Edgardo Henriquez for Blake Snell. With runners on the corners, Vladimir Guerrero Jr. worked a walk, off a wild pitch that allowed for Addison Barger to score. Then with runners on 1st and 2nd, Bo Bichette singles to right field, scoring Andrés Giménez. The inning ends with the Blue Jays having a 5-1 lead. In the top of the 8th, with a runner on 3rd, Isia Kiner-Falefa singled to left field, scoring Ernie Clement which gave the Blue Jays the final blow for a 6-1 lead. From there the Blue Jays were able to shut out the Dodgers, winning game five at a score of 6-1.
Game 6: Dodgers (2) – Blue Jays (3)
For game six, both teams made their way back to Rogers Centre to finish the series, with the Dodgers facing elimination. The Blue Jays decided to start right-handed pitcher Kevin Gausman, and the Dodgers started right-handed pitcher Yoshinobu Yamamoto. To start the Dodgers off in the top of the 3rd, with runners on 1st and 2nd, Will Smith doubled to left field, scoring Tommy Edman. Then, with runners on the corners, Mookie Betts singled to left field allowing for Shohei Ohtani and Will Smith to score, giving the Dodgers a 3-0 lead. The Blue Jays ended up responding in the bottom of the 3rd with a runner on 3rd base, George Springer singled to center field, scoring Addison Barger making the score 1-3. After that, the Dodgers are able to shut down the Blue Jays, allowing them to stay alive and take the series to game seven with a 3-1 victory.
Game 7: Dodgers (3) – Blue Jays (3)
For the grand finale, the Blue Jays started right-handed pitcher Max Scherzer, and the Dodgers started right-handed pitcher Shohei Ohtani. In the bottom of the third the Blue Jays had runners on the corners, Bo Bichette then hit a 3 run home run to center field, giving the Blue Jays a 3-0 commanding lead. The Dodgers respond in the top of the 4th with bases loaded, Teoscar Hernández hits a sacrifice fly that lets Will Smith score. Putting the Dodgers on the board 1-3. In the top of the 6th, the Blue Jays replaced right-handed pitcher Louis Varland with right-handed pitcher Chris Bassit. With runners on the corners, Tommy Edman hits a sacrifice fly to center field allowing for Mookie Betts to score for the Dodgers making the game 2-3.With the Blue Jays up to bat in the bottom of the 6th, with a runner on 2nd base, Andrés Giménez hit a double to right field, scoring Ernie Clement. Giving the Blue Jays a 4-2 lead. In the top of the 8th, Max Muncy hits a home run to right field for the Dodgers, making it a one run ball game, 3-4. In the top of the 9th, with the game on the line for the Dodgers, Miguel Rojas hit a game tying home run to left field. Tying up the game at 4-4. The game then proceeds into extra innings. In the top of the 11th, the Blue Jays replaced right-handed pitcher Seranthony Domínguez with right-handed pitcher Shane Bieber. Then Will Smith hit a homer to left field, giving the Dodgers a 5-4 lead. In the bottom of the 11th, right-handed pitcher Yoshinobu Yamamoto is able to shut out the Blue Jays, winning the world series for the Dodgers. This makes it their second year in a row, making it their 9th world series title. Yoshinobu Yamamoto ended up winning World Series MVP.
