Spirit Week Kicks Off with Huge Lorax Participation
The first day of Spirit Week set an incredibly high bar as students changed the school into Truffula Valley, embracing the Lorax theme. Participation was outstanding, with many students and clubs going all out in creative costumes. The hallways were filled with students in orange jumpsuits, wild wigs, and colorful paints, making a memorable start for the days to come.
”For my senior year, I decided to go all or nothing! Spirit Week is lots of fun” said senior Grae Mckown.
Throwback Tuesday: We’re Living in a Y2K World
Day two of Spirit Week sent students and staff back to the early 2000s with a Y2K theme. The school felt like a time capsule, packed with crop tops, low-rise jeans, chunky sneakers, and neon accessories. The participation was just as strong as the day before, with many students and teachers embracing the era.
“I love dressing up, it’s super fun…I think it helps people be more creative with themselves and socialize.” said junior Hillary Martinez Cuevas.
Wednesdays Country vs. Country Club: Spirit Week’s Great Divide
Day three of Spirit Week brought the house down with a fun, fierce showdown. Students again stepped up their participation, although the countryside was definitely more prominent in the halls. The hallways were filled with hats, denim, flannels, tennis skirts, and shoulder sweaters. The “vs” theme gave everyone a chance to pick a side and show off their creativity.
”I participated because I like being able to bond with everyone else participating, and I love to show school spirit for the upcoming Homecoming football game. I think I will participate another week.” said sophomore Mattias White.
Spirit Week Closes Out with Coachella Style
Spirit Week reached its end of excitement with Thursday’s theme: Coachella. Students channeled their inner desert fashion and embraced the music festival’s iconic style. Although the theme sparked both strong likeness and dislikeness among students, the participation remained high, turning the school into bohemian and western-inspired looks. The colors ranged from vibrant tie-dye and flowing prints to earthy beige, browns, and denim; completed with fringe, sun hats, and layered jewelry. This commitment to showing up and dressing out shows genuine school pride.
”I think spirit week shows pride and support for my school in a fun and creative way, and I look forward to participating in the future.” said Heidi Van Poppel.
