This past weekend two Cavalier students took home awards at the TAJE Fall Fiesta contest in San Antonio. Senior, Emilio (Nyx) Garibi-Moreyra, won Superior Editorial Writing; and junior, Caroline Rodriguez, won Excellent Digital Photo for her entry, “Big Feelings.
Both students, along with other students in newspaper and yearbook classes, enjoyed their Saturday competing with other schools from all over Texas. The Fall Fiesta was a fantastic learning experience and a great opportunity for our school to branch out and engage with other schools. One of the highlights of the weekend was the photo scavenger hunt along the Riverwalk and around the Alamo – a great way to experience San Antonio!
