This past weekend, members of College Park’s debate team competed at the UIL CX (cross-examination) Debate District tournament, where they conquered their opponents. Jessie Merriwether and Sarah Synek took home the district championship, and qualified for the state tournament this March. Olivet Ojajni and Bailey Fischer also qualified for the state tournament with a 2nd place win. Finally, Katelynn Reed and James Massey got 3rd place, making them the first alternates for state. Overall, the team was able to win every round of the competition, as well as every single judge’s ballot. Make sure to congratulate these students on their major accomplishments!
