Dreams to Stardom: Sophia Dinubilo
May 22, 2023
In honor of Paladin tradition, the staff bids goodbye to our graduating members through dedicated stories written from one senior to another. With these words we honor the futures they have chosen and wish them success in their future endeavors.
Senior staff member Sophia Dinubilo is setting off to Southern Methodist University to study public affairs and corporate communications.
“It’s a great school and the education is probably the best in Texas that you could get. Since I was little I’ve always wanted to go there,” Sophia said.
In addition to the great education, SMU also maintains an esteemed position which Sophia will be taking over during her time there.
“I’m going to be the feature twirler called ‘The Doll’ at SMU, and I will be able to keep the position for all four years and won’t have to re-tryout,” Sophia said.
After twirling for ten years and winning multiple state and national titles, Sophia’s talent has secured her role in this SMU tradition along with a President’s Scholarship.
“At SMU the half-time show kind of revolves around ‘The Doll,’ so that’s really important and kind of special to me,” Sophia said. “It’s always been a dream of mine since I was little to go there and twirl.”
With many changes ahead, Sophia is anticipating the many new experiences she will embark on.
“Obviously I don’t really know what to expect and I feel like every senior could say that,” Sophia said. “I’m ready for meeting new people, experiencing college game days, taking classes that I wasn’t able to take in high school, and living on my own.”
With her high school experience behind her, Sophia is ready to move forward.
“It’s a big step in life, and I’m really excited for it,” Sophia said.
