Sprinting Towards Success

Throughout the season, the Girls Track and Field varsity squad have been making significant volumes within the district: from long jumpers like senior Ara Odelowo winning second in Area, to senior Katelyn Andrews smashing the school’s pole vault record, the team has been consistently proving to their opponents that they have what it takes to win the gold.

On Thursday, April 27th, the girls will travel to Waco to compete at their Regional meet at Midway High School. The competition will last from Friday morning to Saturday evening, with each running event allowing only the top-two athletes to compete at State. The athletes qualifying for Regionals are as follows: senior(s) Katelyn Andrews (pole vault/4by4), Ara Odelowo (long jump/200/4by1), Taylor Good (4by1), Jessica Martini (4by1/100); junior(s) Sofia Estrellas (4by1), Leila Morales (300 hurdles), Gabby Martin (4by4), Katie Collins (discus), Maddie Phan (pole vault), Tara Mallya (4by4), and sophomore Zoe Norman (4by4).

Wish our girls luck as they fight for their spot at State!
