3.14159265359… International Pi day is just around the corner. The holiday’s date is the first three digits of Pi as well as Albert Einstein’s birthday.

The Algebra II teachers are celebrating Pi day with two extra credit opportunities. Students are able to create a Pi graph, where they will measure six cylinders’ diameters and circumferences, then plot the measurements and find the slopes of the lines. The second option is to write an original song, poem, or short story about Pi. Students will receive .314 points towards their lowest major grade for each of the extra credits they complete and present in class. Raise your grades and enjoy some Pi next Tuesday!
