After leaving behind the Friday night lights, band students continue to pursue competition and achievements. On December 3rd musicians auditioned against schools across the region for a position in the Region 9 Bands. Twenty-Four moved on to phase two which took place on Monday December 5 where they were placed in chair rankings throughout the 3 Region 9 Bands. These students attended a clinic over the weekend of December 9th in which they prepared for a concert on December 11th. In addition to this, nine students placed high enough in their second audition that they qualified for the Area audition that will take place on January 7th. This Area is the final step in determining if the musicians qualify to be a Texas All-State musician which is the highest honor a high school musician can receive in the state of Texas.
