The week most students have been anticipating is almost here, Thanksgiving break. This year the break is from November 19th to the 27th.

If you don’t have much planned for the week, here are some ideas that could inspire you for the break.

First off, throw a “Friendsgiving,”. This event is a spinoff of Thanksgiving except it is strictly friends. For Friendsgiving, gather up a bunch of your friends and encourage them to bring traditional thanksgiving food such as turkey, stuffing, and sweet treats. Or you could make it all about the snacks everyone is thankful for to keep it casual and easy.

If you would like to take a trip, drive to Downtown Houston. On Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 24th the city of Houston is hosting the 73rd annual HEB Parade at 9 AM. The parade includes elaborate floats, marching bands, huge flying balloons, and other family fun attractions.

Additionally, The Downtown Aquarium is hosting a Thanksgiving buffet where families can come down on Thanksgiving day and eat the traditional holiday foods. After dinner, visitors can walk around the restaurant area to learn and see marine life in action. Reservations are required for the buffet so book them as soon as you can.

Otherwise, use this time to relax, enjoy your time off and reconnect with the ones close to you.
