Decked Out for Drug Awareness

Sophia Dinubilo

This week, October 24th- 28th, College Park is hosting the annual Red Ribbon Week campaign. The Red Ribbon campaign is the largest drug-abuse prevention campaign across the nation, and College Park hosts the week to share and promote the dangers and issues with drug use amongst teens. Red Ribbon Week is put on and prepared for by the CP counseling staff. This week, each day has a different theme. Monday’s theme is “Rally in Red”, encouraging students to wear The Red Ribbon campaign signature color, red. On Tuesday, the theme is “Give Drugs to the Boot!”, so students should wear their best country-themed clothing. On Wednesday, the theme is to wear team gear, in order to  “Team up on Drugs”. On Thursday the “War on Drugs” takes place, the theme is camouflage. Finally, on Friday, which is also game day, students are encouraged to wear neon colors, because “Our Future is too bright for Drugs, and also to Blind the Bald Eagles!”. Make sure to participate in Red Ribbon Week to promote a great campaign.
