The time has come to join together with your 5th period classes for the competition of the year: The CP Food Drive! Student Council is hosting an on campus virtual fundraiser for contributions to the district wide drive hosted by Conroe ISD. From October 13th through the 21st students are invited to make cash donations on School Cash Online, for the purchase of food items by the Montgomery County Food Bank.

“We decided to do the canned food drive last year and had a lot of success, so we decided to do it virtually this year,” community service co-chair Riley Oberg said.

Riley Oberg is heading this year’s drive. In addition to the virtual change, Riley Oberg is excited to add another motivation to the charitable activity.

“We also added in prizes for the 5th period that donates the most money to add some friendly competition and incentive,” Oberg said.

Each dollar donated is worth five cans in the competition for who has the most donations. The fifth period class with the most cans donated will win a pizza party. Second place will receive cupcakes, and third place will receive cookies.

“Our goal is to raise as much as possible and give students an opportunity on how they can help out in their community,” Oberg said.
