Things to do Over the Summer

Eleanor Kelly

As summer approaches we are met with an expanse of time, summer is obviously the perfect time to relax, but eventually that gets boring. Our area has much to offer to make your summer memorable.

Within The Woodlands we have many different things to do, like Texas Tree Ventures, Inspire Rock, the Riva Row Boat House, and the Game preserve. Texas Tree Ventures is a three level aerial course that offers a series of physical challenges and activities for all ages, for more information click here. Inspire Rock in an indoor rock climbing facility, the gym provides multiple levels of difficulty for climbers making it accessible for everyone. The Riva Row Boat House, located on Lake Woodlands, allows people to rent paddle boards, kayaks, water bikes, and swan boats to mosey around the lake. And finally the Game Preserve, which is air conditioned, and offers an authentic arcade experience with tons of classic games.

If you’re willing to go outside the bubble, Houston also has many things to offer. Regular things like the Houston Zoo, the Houston Museum of Science, and the Museum of Fine Arts. The Museum of Science is offering many indoor theater events all summer and summer camps. The Museum of Fine Arts is also holding many summer camps and early morning activities, such as Zumba in the sculpture garden. Space Center Houston offers many fun activities and exhibits all summer long. A quirkier spot in Houston to visit is the Art Car Museum, the museum exhibits many antique cars as well as cars that have turned into art, for more information about the Art Car Museum click here

If you’re willing to travel even farther, Typhoon Texas in Katy is a fun way to cool off on a summer day, same with Schlitterbahn in Galveston or New Braunfels.

Summer can be made exciting in and around town if you take advantage of it, make your summer worthwhile and have fun!
