Dune

Dune has been rebooted, taking on a smoother approach from the 1984 version, both inspired by the lengthy book series, for fans that have been around since the beginning of Dune, this modern take allows for more understanding of the characters and plot, or for new fans to fall in love with the trilogy.

In the 2021 version of Dune Timothee Chalamet, known for his very popular role in “Call Me by Your Name” and “Little Women”, takes on the role of Paul Atreides,  a boy born into a great family with a special gift seen as the “chosen one” in the trilogy.

Zendaya, known for her appearance in Disney movies and shows such as “Shake It Up” or most recently, the new Spiderman films, also holds a prominent role in Dune. In the movie, Zendaya plays the role of Chani, a woman part of the Fremen tribe, and Paul’s love interest in the trilogy.

Paul has to travel to the dangerous sand planet of Arrakis, to secure the future of his family and people. Though going to Arrakis, Paul and his family have to deal with rivals that are trying to fight for a very valuable resource that only the sand planet produces.

This Sci-fi film has many well-known actors such as Jason Momoa, Oscar Issac, Rebecca Ferguson, and many other famous actors who play a variety of memorable roles in the movie.

Each actor in Dune seemed to be very determined to play their role right, so they do not disappoint former or new fans of the trilogy. The cast members involved in Dune definitely achieved the emotional aspects of their individual characters, and overall I really understood why these actors portrayed the characters they are.

The first time I watched Dune I was confused, but it was due to being unfamiliar with the trilogy. Although, after I did research on the characters and learned more about its plot I came to really enjoy the film and recommend it to people that love the series or just want to watch something new.
