For the first time since Covid, The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion rocked when Pitbull took the stage last Friday night. There have been other shows but none as full as this one. Many high schoolers from across the area were there on the lawn, attracted by the reasonable price and the promise of a fun night. Many of the people within the crowd had some killer concert outfits, some were even dressed up as Pitbull with bald caps and suits.

The crowd got warmed up with a performance from Iggy Azalea, she danced, fired up the crowd and got everyone ready for the main event with her top songs Black Widow and Fancy. The lawn was alive, and everyone was jumping up and down. Once Iggy’s performance concluded, it was time for Pitbull. The crowd went wild,  chanting Pitbull repeatedly. Once he entered the stage the whole theater burst into hysteria, he opened the show with Don’t Stop the Party atop a tiered stage of stairs.

Pitbull went on to perform his new single I Feel Good, while also interacting with the audience. Telling them to chant back answers to things like “Who came to party?” to which everyone responded with “We came to party.” Further on he gave a speech, using language I can’t put here, encouraging the crowd to not be followers in social media or in real life. He finished off with his popular song Give Me Everything, with confetti cannons and a farewell to the fans. It was a fantastic night that the crowd needed.

On a personal note, the Pavilion has a very strict clear bag policy. Make sure that your clear bag has no straps and no amount of color anywhere.  I recommend carrying your stuff in and buying a tote bag from the merch stand like I did.
