Last Friday night, May 15th, marked the end of the College Park baseball season with a 6-1 loss to Bridgeland in the previous playoff game. With this fateful game, the Cavs ended their 2021 campaign 19-14-1, 2nd place in the district, with a regional playoff appearance. Bridgeland proved to be a tough second-round match for the Cavaliers, topping off a resilient season.

Bridgeland started strong, quickly striking out the Cavs, who struggled to catch up. This elimination game required all strengths to fight against the Bears, as the Cavs lost to them in their previous game, the second of round-two of playoffs, 5-1. Among these strengths were Hassan Malik with three for three and a walk, and Alex Diaz with two for three and an RBI. As a team, the Cavs were 7 for 27.

Even with their backs against the wall, the Cavaliers showed out, playing like there was a 3-1 count, fighting until the end. Continuing to improve, the Cavalier baseball team has set a higher standard for future teams with their impressive season.
