Honor Graduates Celebrated at Annual Breakfast

On Tuesday, April 27th, the seniors graduating in the top 15% of their class were recognized for their achievements at the annual Honors Breakfast.

Approximately 100 students were in attendance for this event while there are 762 seniors in the entire graduating class. In addition, Curtis Null (CISD Superintendent), Gregg Colschen (Assistant Superintendent for High Schools), Mrs. Stacey Chase (CISD School Board), and Mr. Scott Moore (CISD School Board) were all present. The ceremony was held in the gym.

Since Covid protocols are still in place, students were each served a box meal of a ciabatta sandwich or a breakfast taco to enjoy. During the event, each counselor introduced their assigned students who were receiving certificates. Students either received a “Summa Cum Laude” (top 5%), “Magna Cum Laude” (between 5-10%), or “Cum Laude” (between 10-15%) certificate indicating their class rank percentile. After their name was called, students were presented their certificates by Dr. Murrell and Dr. Caffery and took a photo with them.

Throughout the next few weeks of school, seniors will have the opportunity to attend many more exciting events such as Senior Sign Day on May 13th and Senior Awards on May 17th at Woodforest Bank Stadium.
